Tales of Good Ol’ Snoop Doggy Dogg

J.T. Yost is a 2009 Xeric Award winner, who has a great deal of creativity, artistic talent and a penchant for the artform of comic books.

Tales of Good Ol’ Snoop Doggy Dogg is a short but witty little compilation, featuring a few “dreams” of Snoop Doggy Dogg, and ending with a compelling short featuring a seemingly unnamed protagonist/cartoonist and his buddy Sean, tying also into the Snoop Doggy Dogg theme.

The dreams are the sort of “slice of life,” this is what it is, even though it’s all surreal sort of stuff. It doesn’t displease me, but I’d like to see more than just two vignettes.

The third story does more than make up for it though. It’s a tale of trying to be cool. Connecting with the cool kid, and seeing it all get ruined in the end…. Or did it really?

  1. Thanks for the review, Joe. Just to clarify, there are actually three dream comics in this collection. And, to address you wanting more, I’m actually working on a larger collection of dream comics featuring cameos by the likes of Arnold Schwarzenegger, Roseanne Barr, Dick Cheney, Henry Rollins and, yes, another appearance by Snoop Dogg.
